Style and Fabulosity…MY way

Being the fussy, full of shit, ‘perfectionist’ self I am_ every day I am overcome by a sense of anger and pity at how a lot of South Africans do not pay attention to the way they dress and carry themselves!

Looking immaculate and well groomed at all times is such an important aspect to my life that whenever I walk through streets or at shopping malls, I am constantly analysing what people are wearing and working out in my mind how I rate that outfit and how I could tweak it to make it Fabulous MY way! {its extremely draining}

Through all these experiences, I have one simple question, what is happening to the dress sense of South Africans!?
I decided to go out there and find out- for some ridiculous reason, a lot of people blame a lack of financial power and minimal time to dress up everyday for not being able to look immaculate and fabulous at all times! REALLY!? Take note my dears_ looking stylish and fabulous doesn’t cost a thing! Style starts with confidence and feeling so good about what your wearing that it rubs off on those around you regardless of what shit you’re wearing!!!!

I find it hard to describe the feeling I get whenever I walk around in public and I can feel how people are looking at me and admiring what I’m wearing and the way I’m carrying myself! You get a sense of accomplishment and pride in your clothes! For me, buying clothes is a lot more than buying material to drape myself in, shopping is an opportunity to endorse and grow my brand! I get SOOOOO much more out of my clothes than just looking good and covering up.

Isn’t the hassle of finding the perfect garment for YOU worth the reward at the end?- regardless of your abilities and personality, we live in a world where we are judged predominantly by our appearance, with 80% of it being what were wearing.

Looking immaculate in your OWN sense of style at all times is VERY important

People need to understand that your clothes are who YOU are! They are an extension of your soul and can either build or break your brand. As for the financial aspect of it, fortunately for us_ in my opinion_ South Africans have moved on from being caught up in the hype of what brand your wearing and rather focus on what the end product looks like. Like I said earlier, if you feel good about it you can make anything look good. I am one of those people who believe in buying inexpensive items and making it look very expensive by pairing it well with other items and just feeling damn good about it!- accessories are just as important! A scarf, hat, shoe or watch can completely transform an outfit

I love fashion and I treat it with the utmost respect and honour it deserves! I hope with this post I can spread the message that style and fabulosity is free- its up to you to make it look expensive! Lol

My Dreams….

Fabulosity In All Forms!

Every single day I ask myself, will I ever achieve my dreams and goals? Will I ever become what I want to become? Every time I see some of my inspirations such as Bonang Matheba, Pabi Moloi, Dineo Ranaka and Rachel Zoe, to name a very few, – get a sense of nostalgia and just think to myself, one day those people are going to look at me in admiration and find ME as the inspiration!

The amount of things that I would like to achieve are insane! A day doesn’t pass without me thinking about what my life will be like when I’ve moved to Joburg and I’m living my dream life, because I AM going to live that life! At first my plan was to dominate the South African media industry but as time has moved on my dreams have grown with me and I now want to take on Africa AND America. I’ve realised my dreams keep getting bigger and bigger and unless I begin NOW to work at achieving them, I’m going to have a lot of catching up to do! {Lol}

I always wonder whether there are any other people out there who are as ambitious and goal orientated as I am!? I have VERY big dreams and they sometimes scare me! I want to use my God-given talents to touch and inspire others as well as create a business empire that will help others see that pursuing YOUR passion and doing what YOU love for a living really does pay off.

Over the years I have received a lot of advice but two of those have REALLY stuck: “Vuvu, you’ve got a big mouth, USE IT!” And “Find out what your love,talent and passion is- find a way to know more about it (study) then find a way to get paid for it!) And that is exactly what I am to do- 2011 brings with it my entry into university where I am to study ‘Jourmalism&Media Studies and Drama’ _ my main passions and talents_ I’d say I’ve pretty much stuck to that advice!!

I am going to be very successful! I am talented! Motivated! Intelligent! And Hard working! Vuvu Nqezane_ that name is soon to become a HUGE brand.

New Begginings…. In Style

Vuvu Nqezane

For billions of people around the world, the transition from 2010 to 2011 means very little, if not nothing at all_ yet for me, it means soooooo much!

After celebrating the entry into 2011 in fabulous style with a bottle of Moet champagne and great wine amongst the company of great friends and family in my new apartment, I couldn’t help but reflect on the year that just ended (although that isn’t like me_ I tend to get emotional)

2010 was a very successful year for me with excellent academic achievements at school, my love life had blossomed and my social standing in society was at an all-time high! Things weren’t just positive though!, there was a period through which I suffered severe depression as I was struggling to cope with the matric workload and the pressures of keeping appearance. Thanks to God and the holidays I survived and came back stronger than ever!

With 2011 FINALLY here, I am VERY happy as a lot of change is happening in my life. I’ve just recently came back from Xhosa initiation school where I went through the process of becoming a man according to my culture and I have also just recently moved to Grahamstown, Eastern Cape where I will be enrolling at Rhodes University to study Journalism&Media and Drama! (The fact that it has the best journalism school in Africa excites me more! Lol) Apart from that I am also extremely excited about the fact that I will be moving into my OWN apartment and begin an entirely new phase of my life in the freedom of my own space.

I am very happy with the state of my life and I pray to God it stays this way. For the past few days I have been going furniture shopping and decorating my apartment and am LOVING this process! Picking out every spoon, scatter cushion, rug, mirror and kitchen utensil is utter bliss and allows me to express my creativity in a manner which makes me happy. God has truly blessed me!

2011 seems to hold a very promising prospect for me and I look forward to it! Xoxo *V!*

What music means to me…

What is music? Music has the ability to ruin or make a persons life, make or destroy a persons day, drive you to insanity or even motivate you to build your life.

 Whenever I listen to certain songs, I can feel a cocktail of emotions surfacing and erupting in my soul. I can feel my soul being moved by every lingering lyric, I can feel my pulse pumping softer and melodically. My inner being feels at peace and is content with all around it. Music makes me want to cry, strip naked and proclaim my love for all those around me. Music makes me lose control, in the words of the legend herself, Missy Elliot. Music makes me feel as though i’m inlove. MUSIC BRINGS ME TO LIFE.

 Music ignites that inner spark of mine that makes my life, purpose and understanding. Music is a living body which has the ability to manipulate one to do things that you normally wouldn’t do. Every beat, stroke, tone and melody works hand-in-hand warming up your soul and making you content. Music is my joy, love and pleasure. It allows me the opportunity to escape to another realm where only peace exists. Music is one of those things in life that never loses its value.

 I bow down to all those that have physicaly touched my soul through their magnificent music. Beyonce [DIVA!], I bow; Shane Ward, I bow; Stars, I bow; Jay Z, I bow; Ludwig Van Beethowen, I bow; Tailor Swift, I bow; Brandy, I bow; David Guetta, I bow; Black Eyed Peas, I bow; Usher, I bow; Leona Lewis, I bow; Celine Dion, i bow; Cast of Glee, I bow [lol]. To all those artists that have managed to move my soul into a state of serenity, I BOW! My life would be incomplete without the magic of music. Theres a song called ‘Your Ex Lover I s Dead’ by a Canadian group called ‘Stars’. No other song had EVER touched my soul like that song, IT MOVED ME!! It took my soul to an entirely different place,a state of serenity, utter bliss and conentness.
